While neighboring states debate hunting seasons and protection for wild wolves, Illinois is marveling at a possible wolf sighting – and subsequent illegal shooting – that took place in Bureau County earlier this week.
You may remember that Bureau County is also the place where a black bear was spotted wandering last summer. Like wolves, black bear have not populated Illinois since the 1800s.
